Information for New, Returning, and Current Registrants

In Saskatchewan, individuals must be registered and licensed with the CDHS to use the protected title of “dental hygienist” or any word, designation, or abbreviation that implies they are a registrant. A dental hygienist must hold the appropriate license to perform authorized practices subject to any terms, conditions, and/or limitations.

New Applicants

First-time applicants to the CDHS should follow the step-by-step instructions to complete their application form. 

  • Along with your completed application form, you must submit a notarized copy of your National Certification and Dental Hygiene Credential, either in person or by mail.

  • If you are currently or were previously licensed as a dental hygienist in another jurisdiction, you must also submit a Letter of Good Standing / Verification of Good Standing with your application.

Applications will not be considered complete until all documents are received.

Current Registrants

Non-Practising → Full Licence

Registrants with a non-practising licence who wish to change to a full licence within a licensing year should follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the register change process. Please allow 10 business days for your register change to be processed.

REGISTER CHANGE

Profile Updates

Registrants must notify the College within 30 days of a change to legal name, mailing and electronic address, and place of employment. Follow the step-by-step instructions to update your profile and ensure your information is current.

Letter / Verification of Good Standing

Registrants who require a Letter or Verification of Good Standing for submission to another regulatory body or agency must complete and submit the Request form to admin@cdhsk.ca


Previously Registered

Recently Registered (Dormant = within the last six months):

If you were registered and licensed with the CDHS within the last six months, please follow the step-by-step instructions to re-apply (see Register Change Dormant to Full, Conditional or Non-practising).

RE-APPLY

Formerly Registered (Former = longer than six months):

If you were previously registered and licensed with the CDHS more than six months ago, you will need to submit a new application for registration.

Re-applications are reviewed on an individual basis. Depending on your registration, licensure, and practice history, additional information or documentation may be required to determine your eligibility for registration.

RE-APPLY

If you have not held active licensure in dental hygiene for a period of 36 months or longer, you will be required to complete an approved refresher/re-entry program before becoming eligible for registration. Please contact the Registrar at registrar@cdhsk.ca for a list of approved refresher/ reentry programs.

THE SASKATCHEWAN DENTAL HYGIENISTS’ ASSOCIATION (SDHA) IS A CORPORATION UNDER THE DENTAL DISCIPLINES ACT. AS OF JULY 1, 2024, THE SDHA OPERATES AS THE COLLEGE OF DENTAL HYGIENISTS OF SASKATCHEWAN (CDHS).
